Service Charge:

Group Discounts:
Groups larger than 10 adults staying in Tents or Chalets are entitled to a 10% discount.
Payment details:
A minimum deposit if 50% is required before we can confirm a reservation. Deposits can now be done through 3G Direct Pay. Camping groups are required to pay a 50% deposit to reserve a river frontage summer hut camp site.
Croc Valley Camp accepts Zambian Kwacha, US Dollars, GB Pounds, Euros, South Africa Rand and Visa but please make note that we charge 5% surcharge on credit card payments.

Supplies:
Food and other supplies if you are self-catering or camping with us should be brought with you. If you need to pick up supplies in Chipata there is a Shoprite supermarket, Barclays and Zambian banks and all manner of other goods suppliers that you may need to stock up on!
In Mfuwe village itself, basic groceries only are available, if you are self catering we would advise shopping in Chipata for the duration of your stay in the valley.
Fuel:
There is a BP fuel station here in Mfuwe, we do usually have petrol and diesel, but in case of lack of supply, it is always wise to carry a couple of full jerry cans with your own vehicle.
Arrival by road:
The road up to the park from Chipata is an adventure. As you pass through rural Zambian villages you will see some of the out of the way scenery often missed by tours that do not go off the beaten track. Your efforts will be worth it when you arrive at camp and quench your thirst at our riverside bar and watch the Luangwa River meandering peacefully past the camp.
Directions:
Drive to Chipata (about 15 km from the Malawi border in the Eastern Province of Zambia).
Take the signpost to South Luangwa National Park (coming from Malawi, as you go under the arch at the end of Chipata town turn right, or if coming from Lusaka, it is a left turn just before you would go under the arch signaling the start of Chipata town).
Follow the road for approximately 3-4 hours (about 140 km); keep following signs to South Luangwa National Park. The road is mainly dirt with two small stretches of tarmac. Parts of it are being graded each year, but rains have their influences.
When you have passed through the Jumbe police check stop, you will be almost onto the good road again! When you reach the tarmac junction, the airport is to the left, you must turn right to come to Croc Valley Camp. Follow the good tar road for about 20 minutes going passed the BP fuel station, go straight passed the T- junction for another couple meters on your right hand side you will see a big sign for Croc valley camp, turn right there, follow the dirt road, a another 2 signs will indicate our camp, turn right and just follow the track as it will lead you straight into our camp.
What to expect:
A friendly family welcome, comfortable rooms, laundry service, campsite, hot showers, flushing toilets, restaurant, bar and a hippo friendly swimming pool all on the banks of the Luangwa river.
Payment methods:
Visa - we charge 5% commission and the card must be valid in date and signature. We cannot accept American Express cards or Master cards.
US$ - always ensure a good supply of US$ cash, it is the only commonly used currency in Africa)
We do take ZAR rand, Euro, pound and Zambian kwacha
Sorry we are unable to accept Travelers Cheques due to local bank charges
Park entrance fees:
All entrance fees are payable directly to the park, therefore we advise you to bring enough cash to have ready at the entrance gate. Park Entry fee is valid from 6am to 6pm.
Game - viewing activities:
The morning drives leave camp at 06.00hrs and return around 10.30hrs.
Our night drives leave camp at 16.00hrs and return around 20.15hrs.
The walking safari sets off at 06.00hrs and return around 11.00hrs.
